On Aurelia, a published wedding website stays live for 12 months from the date of purchase. Here is how to make the most of that time, and what happens when it ends.

Why keep it up after the wedding

  • Guests look back at the photos, the schedule and the story.
  • It is the natural place to share a thank-you with everyone at once.
  • Guests who travelled may want the venue or hotel details again.
  • You may want to check replies, dietary notes or guest names for thank-you cards.

What to update after the wedding

  • Replace the welcome message with a thank-you.
  • Add a few favourite photos, or a note saying when the gallery will follow.
  • Remove anything practical that is no longer needed, such as hotel booking codes.
  • Export your guest list and replies for your own records.

Because the 12 months start when you publish, not on the wedding date, timing matters. Designing and previewing are free, so many couples build everything early and publish around six to eight months before the wedding, which leaves several months afterwards for photos and thank-yous. Our guide to when to create and share your wedding website explains the timing.

Should you take a wedding website down?

There is no rule that you must. Most couples simply let it run its course. If you would rather close it earlier, for privacy or because plans changed, remove the details first and let guests know where to find photos instead. On Aurelia you can delete a website yourself; it can be restored by our team for 30 days before it is permanently removed.

Privacy after the wedding

Guest pages on Aurelia are kept out of search engines, so only people with the link find them. Even so, after the day it is sensible to remove anything you would not want to stay online, such as a home address or travel plans.

Questions about keeping a wedding website

How long after the wedding should a wedding website stay up?
At least three to six months, so guests can see photos and a thank-you message. Up to a year is common.
What happens to an Aurelia website after 12 months?
It is archived, not deleted. Guests who open the link see only your names and date, RSVPs close, and you can still sign in and export your guest list.
Do I need to pay again to keep my Aurelia website?
No. There are no renewals or subscriptions: you pay once, and the website stays live for 12 months from the date of purchase.
Can I download my RSVP list before the website ends?
Yes, at any time. Export every reply, including dietary notes, as a CSV file from your dashboard, before or after the end date.
