Terms of service

These terms apply when you use Aurelia to create, publish or view a digital wedding invitation. By creating an account or publishing an invitation, you agree to them.

Last updated 6 October 2026

01Who we are

Aurelia is operated by Aurelia (“Aurelia”, “we”, “us”). You can reach us at hello@aurelia.org.uk.

Aurelia is design software: an online editor and a library of invitation templates. You pay us once for a licence to publish an invitation made with it. We do not sell personal websites, hosting or domains as standalone products.

02We do not handle gifts or donations

The only payment on Aurelia is your purchase of a plan. Aurelia never collects, holds or transfers money between guests and couples, and it does not take donations or run fundraisers.

If you choose to add gift information to your invitation, such as a registry link, it is plain text or a link to a third-party service that you add yourself. Any gift a guest sends goes directly through that service or their bank, outside Aurelia, and we have no part in it.

03Your account

You need an account to create an invitation. Guests do not need one to view an invitation or reply to it.

  • You must be at least 18 years old.
  • Keep your password private. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
  • Give us an email address you can receive mail at, so we can reach you about your order.

04Your content

Everything you add — names, photos, text, guest lists — stays yours. You give us a limited licence to store, process and display it only so we can run your invitation and show it to the people you share it with.

You confirm that you have the right to use everything you upload, including photos taken by a photographer, and that the people in your photos are happy to appear in them.

Guest details you add or collect (names, contact details, dietary requirements) are yours to manage. Use them only for your wedding.

05Acceptable use

Aurelia is for weddings and similar celebrations. You must not use it to:

  • Publish anything unlawful, hateful, harassing, sexually explicit or violent.
  • Impersonate someone, or publish another person’s private information without their consent.
  • Upload content that infringes someone else’s copyright or trademark.
  • Send spam, phishing links or malware, or collect guest data for anything other than your event.
  • Ask for donations, run a fundraiser or crowdfunding campaign, or sell goods or services to guests.
  • Interfere with the service, probe it for weaknesses, or scrape it.

If an invitation breaks these rules we may unpublish it, and in serious cases close the account. Anyone can tell us about a problem through our Report content page.

06Plans and payments

Creating and editing an invitation is free. Publishing it to guests requires a one-time payment for a plan. Prices are shown in US dollars on our Pricing page; there is no subscription.

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Lemon Squeezy, LLC, who is the merchant of record for all our orders. Their terms apply to the purchase, and they issue your receipt, handle sales tax and deal with billing questions.

  • Your invitation stays live for 12 months from the date of purchase. We email you 30 days before it ends. After that it is archived: guests who open the link see only your names and date, RSVPs close, and nothing is deleted.
  • If you are not happy, you can ask for a full refund within 14 days of purchase. Our Refund policy explains how.
  • You can keep editing a published invitation at no extra cost; guests see your changes when you choose “Update live site”.

07Availability and changes

We work hard to keep Aurelia running, but we cannot promise it will never be interrupted. We may improve or change features over time; if we remove something you have paid for, we will tell you and offer a fair remedy.

Keep your own copy of anything important, such as your RSVP list — you can export it at any time from your studio.

08Ending your use

You can unpublish or delete an invitation at any time from your studio. To close your account and delete your data, email us from the address on the account.

We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms. Where we can, we will warn you first.

09Liability

Aurelia is provided “as is”. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

Otherwise, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

10Changes to these terms

If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will update the date above and, for significant changes, email account holders before the change takes effect.
