Modern doesn’t mean minimal information
City and destination weddings often involve several locations: a ceremony, drinks somewhere else, dinner, an afterparty. A modern layout handles that well. Each event gets its own block with a time, address and map link, so nobody has to message you from the street.
Wording for a modern invitation
Plain and direct works best: “Sophie and Alexander are getting married. Saturday 14 June, London. Dinner and dancing to follow.” Use the RSVP section to ask only what you need.
Photos, colour and type
Modern layouts lean on your own photographs, so pick two or three you love: a portrait for the cover, one for your story and a few for the gallery. Black-and-white images look especially good against the clean pages.
Keep the palette to two or three colours, such as ivory and black with one accent, and change them in the editor to match your venue or flowers. The typography does most of the decorating, so every detail stays easy to read on a phone.
